Since 1958, Mel's Commonwealth Cafe has been a beloved neighborhood restaurant known for homestyle breakfast, fresh lunch favorites, and friendly service. What began as the Elmwood Donut Shop with just a small counter and stools quickly grew when customers asked for more—leading to the addition of our famous bacon and eggs breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches, and signature dishes like the Mailman Salad.
